This led to a confrontation between Pearce and Rousey in which she refused to stand down and had to be subdued to leave the arena, having gatecrashed against the wishes of her bosses who weren’t about to lift the suspension—and it looks like if she thought it’d help her get back inside the ropes quicker, she thought wrong.

During the 1,200th episode of WWE SmackDown, Rousey decided to hop the line on her suspension, arguing that since she paid the fine for the Engler attack during the Morgan match—something that will have to wait a bit to wrap up as Liv Morgan is next slated for a match against Shayna Baszler at the SmackDown Women’s Championship at Clash at the Castle before Rousey can take a second crack at her—but Adam Pearce was having none of it. Having the independent wrestler (and MMA fighter) taken out of the ring after she refused to stand down and leave peacefully, Rousey was escorted out by two police officers before the entire arena of cheering fans.

Ronda Rousey is an interesting character in the world of wrestling—spending almost as much time gaming and voice-acting as she does in matches, she’s a mixed flavor for longtime WWE fans to try to wrap their heads around, though her penchant for creating drama inside and outside the ring puts her up there with the best of the best. While the WWE is going through shake-ups of late—from tossing Vince McMahon and putting Triple H in his place to canning a chunk of the NXT UK roster in favor of NXT Europe, but fans don’t need to fear any of that affecting Ronda Rousey. Ronda is a heel through and through, and fans can’t seem to get enough of her antics.

The police were needed after Rousey not only refused to leave the SmackDown ring (and therefore held up the entire event), but attacked the referees who entered to try to subdue her, talking down four of them before Pearce stepped out to confront her, two officers following behind him. Eagle-eyed fans recognized one of the officers, long-time Canadian wrestler K.C. Spinelli, a smart move since it takes a powerhouse to subdue a powerhouse and Pearce was coming prepared. After her initial fine and suspension, and these antics, it could end up being a while before WWE SmackDown welcomes her back—then again, with Rousey’s attitude about busting in anyway, it might not matter.
