The New Day opened up the night talking about how they were even thinking about leaving the company before Vince made them an offer they couldn’t refuse. Asuka lost her SmackDown Women’s Championship to her WrestleMania 34 opponent in a shocking turn of events, similar to what WWE pulled off with AJ Styles and Daniel Bryan before Survivor Series last year. The Miz cut a brilliant promo that helped build on his match against Shane McMahon for the grand stage, while Randy Orton’s actions sent the fans home unhappy....

I mean it was teased that they would get on the same page during an episode of SmackDown Live, and the next week, they actually teamed up against Sasha and Becky. It is a little confusing, especially if you consider the fact that Carmella is the current WWE 24/7 Champion. But Vince McMahon is someone who always has his reasons for the moves that he makes, and I’m guessing that he must have something interesting in store with this alliance....

With another week left for SummerSlam after this, this week’s SmackDown was taped in Australia more than a week back. So all those who have gone through the spoilers, this preview won’t mean much. The card for SummerSlam is still far from complete and WWE needs to start picking up pace if it plans on making the card look acceptable. With a great deal of storyline build up on RAW this week, Smackdown should aim at ending the week on a high....

Raw won the Women’s and Tag Team division matches and SmackDown kept the Intercontinental title and won the 53-minute epic that was the male traditional Survivor Series match. Last week, in the build-up to the 30th annual extravaganza, SmackDown went ahead 9-8 in my series as they had a much better show than Raw. However, we’re now looking at a new week, so will the ramifications of the results from the pay-per-view motivate Raw to give us a better show this week, or will SmackDown take a two-point lead?...

With Eric Bischoff firmly in control of things, SmackDown Live is poised to be a show that has the potential to be very different from what Vince McMahon’s original vision was. With all due respect to the great man, sometimes having a different man in charge of creative duties can infuse fresh life into the proceedings. In any case, my job is to give you a preview of what could happen on this week’s show....

Match 1: Daniel Bryan and Kane defeated the Prime Time Players in a tag-team match. After the match, the Shield appeared on the titantron and warned Kane and Bryan that they would not back down and are looking for the right moment to strike. Match 2: Intercontinental Champion Wade Barrett defeated Santino Marella in a singles match. Barrett got the victory via pin-fall after knocking down Santino with his bull-hammer elbow....

Sami Zayn came out next and he too was a wildcard entry to tonight’s show. He apparently came out on his off day to tell us ’the truth’ about WWE and the toxic fans. The New Day were out next, without Big E, and wanted to join the party. Kofi and AJ traded some one-liners before Kofi was about to offer AJ a shot at the WWE title but Sami had a real problem with that....

Considering he was released from the company last month, it’s at least mildly surprising that Maverick has gotten this far. Is this a sign that the WWE higher-ups are reconsidering their decision to let him go? Sportskeeda’s Tom Colohue says Drake has been getting rave reviews for how he has handled his release from the company, and how he’s made the most of a bad situation. As of this moment though, there are still no discussions within WWE to bring him back....

Both Superstars, whose contracts are due to expire in spring 2020, were offered new deals in 2019 worth around $550,000 per year. However, they chose not to re-sign and they are now just months away from potentially leaving WWE. Writing on Fightful Select, Sapp said one source has told him that WWE is “throwing everything” at the three-time Tag Team Champions in an attempt to convince them to re-sign, but the Superstars are just saying “we’ll let you know”....

But even the stars who lose the bout can still compete for another prestigious honor. Every year, fans can’t wait to see which competitor emerges as the Iron Man. This term describes the Superstar who lasts for the longest period in the match. Typically, these wrestlers enter the match early on and survive until its ending stages. Ric Flair, Chris Benoit, and Rey Mysterio have emerged victorious after they pulled off an Iron Man performance....

This is a secondary title for the WWE’s Women’s Division, on the lines of the Intercontinental or the United States Championship for the guys. The rumour does not go on to mention which brand this title will be debuted in. In case you didn’t know… WWE is in the midst of the Women’s Evolution, a movement that has brought women’s wrestling to the forefront. Led by the Four Horsewomen, women’s wrestling has never been so popular....

In case you didn’t know… Ronda Rousey officially arrived in WWE at the conclusion of the Women’s Royal Rumble. Since then, she’s wrestled in two major televised pay-per-view matches, and impressed the WWE Universe on both occasions. Rousey will make her RAW debut this week against Alicia Fox, who defeated Rousey’s best friend, Natalya, on RAW owing to interference from RAW Women’s Champion, Alexa Bliss....

Let’s take a look at 19, August 2019’s rumor roundup: #1 WWE to announce NXT’s move to USA Network WWE are rumoured to make a huge announcement on this week’s RAW, as they are set to reveal that NXT is going to air on USA Today, and move to Wednesday nights to compete with AEW. According to Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Vince McMahon and WWE will announce a two-hour NXT show that will air on Wednesday to go head-to-head with AEW’s new show on TNT which will debut on October 2nd....

Luckily, WWE has taken it very seriously and Sullivan is in a better place, according to Pro Wrestling Sheet after he’s been seeking the right mental health treatment. In case you didn’t know… Lars Sullivan was supposed to debut in early 2019, having been announced so prior. However, he had reportedly had a breakdown of sorts backstage and a major anxiety attack. The original plan was for him to take out John Cena and write him out of the Royal Rumble, but that never came to fruition....

The proverbial floodgates seem to have been opened ever since Dean Ambrose decided not to renew his WWE contract in April. More and more superstars including Luke Harper and Sasha Banks have followed in his steps and made their unwillingness to continue with WWE very clear. With Superstars being offered lucrative deals by AEW, more and more WWE Superstars are looking for an out– which could be a very worrying sign for Vince McMahon....

The company has stated that a suitable replacement will be announced soon, however, the absence of the Goddess would have surely come as a big blow to WWE this close to the PPV. Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer highlighted the backstage situation regarding Bliss’ status on F4WOnline. While the nature and extent of Bliss’ injury were relatively unknown, Meltzer claimed that the move to remove Bliss from the match was taken as a precautionary measure....

In case you didn’t know… AJ Styles looked as though he would be one of the featured Superstars on Raw after he moved to the brand in the 2019 Superstar Shake-Up. However, following his loss against Seth Rollins at Money In The Bank on May 19, the two-time WWE champion has not competed in any televised matches, while his only recent appearance came in a WWE.com exclusive on June 17 when he was involved in a backstage segment with The Club....
