NXT is now competing head-to-head against AEW on TNT every Wednesday night, and AEW has been selling out 14,000+ seat arenas, which makes NXT come across as a smaller show and production. The truth is, however, that WWE is currently contracted to Full Sail University, which is preventing the company from moving NXT to larger arenas in which the show could be taped. According to PWInsider.com, WWE is contracted to Full Sail University until March of 2020, and the contract stipulates that the weekly NXT on USA Network shows must emanate live from Full Sail University throughout the duration of the deal....

A report from Wrestling Observer has finally disclosed the real reason behind the veteran’s departure. Dave Meltzer stated that Anderson and Vince McMahon were involved in an incident at a recent live event which subsequently led to the former WCW star being fired by the WWE boss. In case you didn’t know… Anderson made a name for himself as part of the legendary Four Horsemen and stayed with WCW until the promotion’s highly-publicized takeover by the WWE....

The draft will be used to determine which brand a wrestler will be part of. The Women’s division will also be a part of the draft but there were rumors which hinted that women’s wrestling will be limited to any one of the two shows. According to the latest installment of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, it appears that the WWE Women’s division will be featured on both RAW and SmackDown and that the possibility of having two championships for them is also quite low....

“For the most part, those WWE guys are [expletive],” McGregor said on the call. “To be honest, they’re messed up [expletive] if you ask me.” McGregor then went on to say he would “slap the heads off” of the entire WWE roster if given the opportunity. The WWE roster took notice as the likes of Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, Ric Flair and Sasha Banks responded to the UFC featherweight champion....

The Wyatt family were involved in action before Bray Wyatt’s steel cage encounter at the PPV against John Cena while the first-ever “WeelC” contract signing took place. Dean Ambrose was lined up against three opponents in a US title defence match while Daniel Bryan and Kane vowed to take each other to the depths of hell come this Sunday....

WWE SmackDown emanated from the BOK Center in Tusla. Interest was high as John Cena and Roman Reigns were advertised for the show. The pair amped up their rivalry ahead of their epic clash at Summerslam, where the fate of the WWE Universal Championship hangs in the balance. The average of 2.499 million viewers is a drastic improvement of 22.1% over last week’s ratings where the show drew an average of 2....

It is the same promotion that has nurtured the likes of Kevin Owens, Cesaro, Seth Rollins, Austin Aries, CM Punk and others in the past. There were some rumours that stated that WWE was only interested in their tape library, whereas other reports suggested that WWE was willing to buy the whole promotion. The legitimacy of this rumour was recently clarified by ROH COO Joe Koff. In an interview with Chuck Caroll of CBS Sports, Koff denied any deal being put forward by WWE to buy ROH or its tape library....

Brock Lesnar demolished Finn Balor to retain his title, Daniel Bryan defeated AJ Styles in a breath-taking encounter, Ronda Rousey and Asuka retained their respective women’s titles and the unlikely duo of The Miz and Shane McMahon dethroned the Bar to win the SmackDown Tag Team titles....

On that note, now PWInsider (h/t Wrestlinginc.com) have revealed Lesnar’s status for the show, and where he was. In case you didn’t know… Everyone was expecting Brock Lesnar to appear on Monday Night Raw with many expecting him to invoke his rematch clause for the Universal Title against Roman Reigns.
