The qualifying matches for the tournament will be contested from May. Wrestlers already announced for the Cruiserweight series are Rich Swann, Akira Tozawa, Tomasso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano, Noam Dar, Zack Sabre Jr., and Ho Ho Lun. Another internationally reputed wrestler, Ricochet is rumored to be a part of the tournament. Ricochet is a former IWGP Junior Tag team Champion with Matt Sydal. Team RAW (Seth Rollins, Drew McIntyre, Kevin Owens, Randy Orton and Ricochet) and Team SmackDown (Roman Reigns, Mustafa Ali, Braun Strowman, King Corbin and Shorty G) have been confirmed for the men’s five-on-five-on-five elimination match, but the Superstars on Team NXT have not yet been announced. Wrestle Votes is reporting that there has been a push from WWE’s creative team to have Triple H compete on Team NXT in the elimination match, but the 14-time World Champion does not want to be part of the event as an in-ring competitor....

In case you didn’t know… After Ziggler lost to McIntyre and suffered the post-match beatdown that saw Ziggler get his head Claymore Kicked between a steel chair and the side of the cage, WWE posted a video of a brooding Ziggler backstage. In the video, Ziggler is apparently unaware he’s being filmed as the camera is around a corner and he appears to be heavily affected by his loss and quietly walks away....
