SmackDown Live Superstars Bayley and Moon lost the inter-brand matchup to RAW Superstars Bliss and Cross, seemingly owing to a couple of other RAW vs. SmackDown matchups ending in favor of the Blue Brand on the same episode of SmackDown Live. In case you didn’t know… Despite utilizing most of its Superstars on both the RAW as well as SmackDown brands, inter-brand competition in the WWE does indeed exist with Superstars from the Red Brand and Blue Brand competing for the pride and honor of their respective show....

McIntyre and Usos’ absence A while ago, Jimmy Uso was pulled over and charged with a DUI, while driving in Pensacola, Florida. This ended up changing SummerSlam weekend plans, as the duo were pulled from the same because of Jimmy Uso needing to deal with the legal issues related to his DUI. It’s being reported that the reason why WWE pulled the brothers from SummerSlam weekend was that getting into Canada is extremely hard if there’s an open legal case against the person in question....

What he did not mention is which brand these titles will be debuted on. Cageside Seats has an update that may shed some light on this matter. In case you didn’t know… The WWE Women’s Division has grown exponentially in strength and numbers over the past few years. The women are given almost as much airtime as the men are, and continue to steal the show at every given opportunity....

Dave Meltzer gave the fans a lowdown of the card on the most recent edition of the Wrestling Observer Radio. He said the SummerSlam card is a ‘fluid’ one and can have matches taken away or added at any given moment. Drew McIntyre is still featured on the card doing the rounds backstage and a match between him and Cedric Alexander is expected to be announced unless Vince McMahon changes his mind again....

In case you didn’t know… Roman Reigns’ RAW return saw him reunited with his brother from The Shield, Seth Rollins. Later on in the night, Rollins and Reigns came out to save Dean Ambrose from a beatdown at the hands of Elias, Bobby Lashley, Drew McIntyre and Baron Corbin. Rollins and Reigns walked away afterwards as Ambrose stood up in the middle of the ring and it looks like we could be seeing The Shield reunite once more soon....

According to Wrestlezone.com, Goldberg was sighted backstage on Raw in Toronto, and is expected to address the WWE Universe during the show. He is expected to brief them on his plans for the future in the company. Some reports seem to suggest that Goldberg is staying on with the WWE at least until Royal Rumble, while others seem to indicate that he would be appearing later today on Monday Night Raw to make a goodbye speech to the fans in attendance....

Big Show, Mark Henry and The Usos vs Goldust, Stardust, Luke Harper and Erick Rowan The night opened with an eight-man tag team match which featured no.1 tag team title contenders Goldust and Stardust teaming up with members of the Wyatt Family against The World’s Largest Athlete Big Show, Mark Henry and tag-team champions The Usos. With the match reaching an intense point, Big Show knocked out Goldust with the KO Punch which allowed Jey Uso to climb up onto the top rope and deliver a Samoan Splash for the victory....

An irate Rollins joins them and disputes with Roman about who should get the next title shot. Out comes Shane McMahon to announce Seth Rollins vs Roman Reigns for tonight’s Raw to decide the number one contender to Ambrose’s Title! Sami Zayn vs Kevin Owens Sami Zayn vs Kevin Owens is up next, and a short, yet intense showdown ends with Zayn getting the win with a roll-up. But wait, there’s a lot of afters as Owens goes after Zayn, unable to digest the defeat....

According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, the ‘powers that be’ had plans to cut about ten more wrestlers in the latest round of releases, but they were saved. He added that they are now considered to be ‘on the bubble,’ which means it’s possible they could be released soon: Former NXT Champion Karrion Kross, Keith Lee, and Nia Jax are among the list of names who were let go by WWE several days ago....

In case you didn’t know… A number of matches have been made for Evolution this past week with Trish Stratus and Lita now teaming up to face Alexa Bliss and Mickie James, whilst Charlotte and Becky Lynch will collide in the first ever Last Woman Standing match. Ronda Rousey will also defend her Raw Women’s Championship against Nikki Bella and the only other match officially unveiled for the show sees Kairi Sane defend her NXT Women’s Champion against former Champion Shayna Baszler....

Dave Meltzer touched upon the current status of Jason Jordan on the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. The former RAW Tag Team Champion may not return to in-ring action as per Meltzer. Even the adage ’never say never’ may not apply in this scenario as Jordan’s injury could spell the end of his in-ring career. The unfortunate case of Jason Jordan Jason Jordan was always earmarked to have a promising career in WWE....

But that doesn’t seem the end of the story. F4WOnline.com reports that there is a chance of Bray Wyatt being added to the match in typical WWE fashion. There is also some buzz that the Eater of Worlds will return on next week’s episode of RAW in New Orleans. Wyatt has been out of action since mid-April after he injured his calf during a match against Roman Reigns at a live event in Milan, Italy....

In case you didn’t know… Mauro Ranallo is currently the stable play-by-play commentator on SmackDown, 205 Live and SmackDown pay per views since the brand split. Mauro had a strong background in commentary, having calling matches for Pride Fighting Championships, Strikeforce, Showtime Championship Boxing, and New Japan Pro Wrestling before coming into the WWE....

In case you didn’t know… In addition to SmackDown LIVE, Ranallo is an announcer for many different combat sports events ranging from kickboxing to mixed martial arts. Some of the promotions Mauro currently works with include Showtime Championship Boxing and Glory Kickboxing. SmackDown LIVE isn’t his first journey into pro wrestling either as at the age of 16, he was hired by All-Star Wrestling in Vancouver. Just prior to coming to the WWE, he was also the play by play announcer for New Japan Pro Wrestling....

Shaking things up on RAW PWInsider.com reported that there was some internal discussion this week in WWE about trying to get prominent daytime talk show host Maury Povich involved. WrestlingInc.com noted that Povich’s show is filmed near Stamford, Connecticut....
